SAIL ON DESERT SHIP The royal Rajasthan, with big sand dunes, clear sky, vibrant ambience and a royal transport mode, in the form of ship of desert, that is camel, extends an open invitation to come, and explore the adventure of the yet unexplored sport, that is, camel safari. Camel Safari, a sport which has gained due credence in last few years, is a journey to explore the unexplored beauty of the sand dunes. Ranging from 2 to 7 days or for a month, these safaris present the picture perfect of the Royal Rajasthan. For those interested to go with a short safari, there is the availability of daylong camel safaris also. Most of the camel safaris start from Jaisalmer. Night halts are always near a village to ensure that you can mingle with local folks and learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture. So if you really want to feel the adventure of this sport, you should hop on to the camel allotted to you by your tour operator and embark on a journey to discover the exotic Rajasthan. Camel safari is indeed an ideal way of exploring the sand dunes of Thar Desert and rural life in this western state of India. November to March is the best time for camel safari as days are cooler and nights, cold. Do pack your woollens for the night and other essentials like a hat, sun glasses, suntan lotion and a first-aid kit. In most cases, one camel is provided per person and a camel cart accompanies the entourage laden with food, utensils and essential commodities. Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Mandawa and Jaipur are the most popular spots for camel safari. Day 01 : Arrive Delhi Upon arrival meet & greet and escorted to your Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel. Day 02 : Delhi Morning after breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi visiting Laxmi Narayan Temple - The Place of Gods, India Gate - The memorial of martyrs, Parliament House - The Government headquarters. In the afternoon take a city tour of Old Delhi covering Jama Masjid - The largest mosque in Asia, Red Fort - The red stone magic, Gandhi memorial - The memoir of father of the nation. Also enjoy the sound & light show in the evening at Red Fort. Overnight at hotel. Day 03 : Delhi – Mandawa (270 Kms – 7 Hrs Drive) Morning after breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Mandawa, on arrival check in into the hotel. Afternoon visit beautiful haveli's to see world famous frescoes paintings. Overnight at hotel. Day 04 : Mandawa – Bikaner (170 Kms – 4 Hrs Drive) Overnight at hotel. Day 05 : Bikaner – Jaisalmer (330 Kms – 7 Hrs Drive) Morning after a relax breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Jaisalmer, on arrival check in at the Hotel. Balance day free to relax. Overnight at hotel. Day 06 : Jaisalmer - Badabagh - Baisakhai - Ramkunda Morning after and early breakfast check out from the Hotel and you will be transferred to safari point by vehicles and start Camel safari for Badabagh: The site of royal cenotaphs of Bhatti Rajput Kings (The then rulers of Jaisalmer) Have lunch at Baisakhai: a typical village, visit a Hindu temple then proceed to Ramkunda, a holy place with beautiful landscapes & Hindu temples. Dinner and overnight at Tents. Day 07 : Ramkunda - Roopse - Ludharva -Chatrayil Morning after breakfast proceed to Ludharva via Roopsi, a mixed cast village with mud and stick houses. Have Lunch at Ludharva, visit Jain temple & proceed to Chatrayil, a traditional and typical muslim village, Reach Peerawal. Dinner and overnight at Tents. Day 08 : Chatrayil - Salkha Beri of Kanoi - Sand dunes Morning after breakfast proceed to Salkha: a traditional Rajput village. Have lunch and proceed towards Sand dunes. Via Beri of Kanoi: a place packed with water wells. Here you can see how the ladies are balancing the water pots on their head as well as their colorful dresses. Reach sand dunes. Dinner with desert folk music, dances with campfire is at sand dunes and overnight at Tents. Day 09 : Sand dunes - Kanoi - Masoordi - Jeseiri Morning after breakfast proceed to Masoordi via Kanoi. A typical carpenters village. Here you can see and buy beautifully carved wooden items. Arrive Masoordi and have lunch. After lunch proceed to Jeseiri: a water tank surroundings by Oasis and beautiful landscape. Dinner and overnight near that tank at Tents. Day 10 : Jeseiri - Dedha - Deegasar - Kuldhara Morning after breakfast proceed to Deegasar via Dedha: A Rajput village and the life style of Rajputs. Have your lunch at Deegasar: a place surrounded with beautiful landscape and a small lake. Proceed further for Kuldhara via a small Rajput Dhani: A typical group of houses where people stay while cultivating their agriculture fields. Arrive Kuldhara: where you will see planning of villages in ancient times Dinner and overnight at Tents. Day 11 : Kuldhara - Moolsagars - Amarsagar - Jaisalmer Morning after breakfast leave for Jaisalmer via Moolsagar and Amarsagar. On arrival you will be transferred to your Hotel. Balance day free to relax. Overnight at hotel. Day 12 : Jaisalmer Morning after a relax breakfast proceed for a sightseeing tour visiting Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Gadi Sagar tank & Museum. Overnight at the Hotel. Day 13 : Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (295 Kms – 7 Hrs Drive) Morning after breakfast check out from Hotel and drive to Jodhpur, on arrival check in into the Hotel. Afternoon free relax or enjoy the city on your own. Overnight at the Hotel. Day 14 : Jodhpur Morning after breakfast proceed for a sightseeing tour visiting Clock tower, Mehrangarh fort & Jaswant Thada. Overnight at hotel Day 15 : Jodhpur – Jaipur (335 Kms – 8 Hrs Drive) Morning after breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Jaipur, on arrival check in into the Hotel. Overnight at hotel. Day 16 : Jaipur Morning after an early breakfast proceed for excursion to Amer Fort with joy ride on an Elephant’s back (subject to availability). Afternoon sightseeing tour visiting Hawa Mahal (Palace of Wind), Royal observatory, City Palace & Pink city’s colorful markets. Overnight at hotel. Day 17 : Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (245 Kms – 6 Hrs Drive) Morning after breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Agra en route visiting abandoned but nearly intact Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This amazing city, a masterpiece of Muslim, Hindu and Jain architecture, was built by Akbar the Great in the sixteenth century. After visiting Fatehpur Sikri continue on to Agra. You will experience a sunset visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal (closed on Friday). Built by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal, the monument is made of white marble and is a fine example of symmetry, balance of design and traditional inlay work. You will also tour Agra Fort, a huge, red-sandstone structure built by the famous Mughal Emperor Akbar in AD 1565. It houses the beautiful Pearl Mosque and many other noteworthy structures. Day 18 : Agra – Sikandra – Delhi (210 Kms – 5 Hrs Drive) Morning after and a relax breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Delhi, you will stop en route at Sikandra to visit the tomb of Akbar the Great. After your visit to Sikandra, you will continue on to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to international airport to connect your flight for onward journey. |
